Irene Dionisio's Miracola Explores Sant'Agata and Mount Etna, Entering Musei Civici Fiorentini Collection
Curated by Valentina Gensini, Irene Dionisio's Miracola will be added to the collection of Musei Civici Fiorentini. This artwork delves into the connection between Mount Etna and Sant'Agata, the patron saint of Catania, depicting a fictional procession from the volcano's base to its peak. Dionisio seeks to connect the seen with the unseen, turning the inexplicable into ritual and memory. Additionally, her new feature film, Idda, is set to premiere this year. Miracola presents a lyrical montage that blends archival materials and original footage, spanning almost a century of history. The exhibition, backed by Fondazione Brodbeck and MAD, will also feature a film editorial project presentation on 28 October at 6:30 pm at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome.
