La galleria di Houston rende omaggio a John Cleary con una mostra di trent'anni
La Catherine Couturier Gallery di Houston ospita 'Thirty Years: The Legacy of John Cleary Gallery', un tributo al defunto mercante di fotografia John Cleary, che fondò la galleria nel 1996. Inaugurata a giugno, la mostra sarà visibile fino al 4 settembre 2026, con opere di fotografi sostenuti da Cleary, come Robert Doisneau e Henri Cartier-Bresson. Tra i momenti salienti c'è 'Le Manège de Monsieur Barré' (1955) di Doisneau, che fu la prima stampa di Cleary. Cleary, nato a Findlay, Ohio, nel 1937, si trasferì a Houston alla fine degli anni '40, ebbe una carriera variegata e morì di cancro al pancreas nel gennaio 2008. Couturier, l'attuale proprietaria, ha curato la mostra dalla sua collezione.
