Grande Brera Unveils 2026-2027 Exhibition Program: Hayez, Schifano, Abramović, Eco
Angelo Crespi, the general director of Biblioteca Braidense and Pinacoteca di Brera, revealed plans for an exhibition schedule set for late 2026 and early 2027. This program will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Accademia di Belle Arti, the 10th anniversary of Umberto Eco's passing, and the centennial of the Amici di Brera association. A significant retrospective dedicated to Francesco Hayez is slated to commence in November and will run for a minimum of two years. Palazzo Citterio will host retrospectives for Carlo Maria Mariani and Mario Schifano, alongside a presentation by Sean Scully. Additionally, digital initiatives will feature Marina Abramović's 'Element' and Davide Maria Coltro's 'The Intelligence of Wonder.' An exhibition honoring Eco will begin on October 2 at Biblioteca Braidense, displaying items from his library.
