Giovanni Chiaramonte's "Alight" at Viasaterna, Milan: First Complete Showing of La Creazione/Neon
"Alight," an homage to Giovanni Chiaramonte, presents 35 images from his La Creazione/Neon series for the first time at Viasaterna in Milan, available until 11 December. Chiaramonte (1948–2023) made his Milan debut in 1974 at Il Diaframma, Italy's pioneering gallery for new photographers. Curated by Luca Fiore in collaboration with the Archivi Giovanni Chiaramonte, the exhibition includes 75 works from the 1980s and 1990s, featuring pieces from Paesaggio italiano and Dolce è la luce. The Neon prints, produced in 2016, exhibit greater brightness than previous Cibachrome prints. Additionally, thirteen images from Di-stanze (2001) and a 1990 photograph from Bomarzo's Parco dei Mostri emphasize Chiaramonte's artistic perspective.
