Francesco Lupò's "24 R U E" Reframes Marc Augé's Non-Places in Rome's EUR District

Francesco Lupò, an architect and photographer originally from Sicily and born in 1983, unveils "24 R U E," a nighttime photographic series that showcases twenty-four images spanning from Rome's EUR district to Fiumicino. Operating under the pseudonym 4trees, he explores the western outskirts of Rome, steering clear of grandiose themes. His style is characterized as "reflective," prioritizing thoughtful compositions over quick digital captures. With his architectural background, he frames images like front facades, featuring human figures that appear small and remote. Notable sites, such as the EUR obelisk, provide context. Lupò observes that at 20:30, EUR transforms into a setting for Corso Cristoforo Colombo.
