Fausto Rossi's 'Battaglie di carta' at Lagobava Artevino Palazzo Pironi, Cannobio

From 3 October 2026 to 9 January 2027, the gallery Lagobava Artevino Palazzo Pironi in Cannobio hosts Fausto Rossi's solo exhibition 'Battaglie di carta'. The opening takes place on Saturday 3 October at 17.00. The venue is located at via Guglielmo Marconi 27, in the Piemontese lakeside town on Lago Maggiore. Around twenty works are on view, in which dense ranks of tiny toy soldiers are arranged across the space with almost obsessive precision. Rossi's practice is built on a deliberate paradox: entire armies march in ordered formation on canvas, uniforms are rendered in careful detail, and flags belong to no state. This private military universe is stripped of bellicose rhetoric and turned into pure visual structure. The meticulous repetition of details functions as the generative mechanism of the work: each figure is carefully made, yet its serial multiplication ultimately removes individuality from the single element.
