Fares Cachoux's …OLTRE at Spazio Multimediale San Francesco Explores War, Identity, and Memory
The exhibition titled OLTRE, which is curated by Cristina Falco and Enrico Lattanzi, will feature Franco-Syrian artist Fares Cachoux from August 13 to November 3, 2026, at Spazio Multimediale San Francesco in Civitanova Marche. This event, organized by Museo MAGMA and Cartacanta APS, delves into Cachoux's artistic journey, transitioning from political critique to the exploration of visual perception. Born in Homs in 1976, Cachoux began using drawing as a form of political expression following the Syrian revolution in 2011. His 2012 poster, Al-Houla, memorializes the massacre of over one hundred civilians on May 25. The exhibition includes the Polka Dots series, EYE to EYE series, and Queens series, examining the effects of relocating protest imagery to art institutions. Cachoux aims for visual immediacy infused with ambiguity.
