Fan Ho's First Italian Solo Show Explores Light and Shadow in Hong Kong Photography
A new solo show featuring the renowned photographer Fan Ho, who was born in Shanghai in 1931 and passed away in San Jose in 2016, is making its debut in Italy. Curated by Elisa Maupas and Sarah Van Ingelgom, this exhibition aligns with the 200th anniversary of Joseph Nicéphore Niépce's famous work, Vista dalla finestra a Le Gras, from 1826. It showcases Ho's urban photography from the 1960s and 1970s, emphasizing his unique talent for capturing the essence of city life through light and shadow. Among the highlighted pieces are Three Men Walking (1962) and Coolies and Hawkers (1958). All images are © Fan Ho Trust and Estate, with support from Blue Lotus Gallery.
