Domenico Ruccia Brings Psychedelic Quattrocento to Milan's Spazio BOXBOX
Domenico Ruccia's latest artwork showcases vibrant hues of magenta, red, and pink, providing a stark contrast to the cool blues featured in his 2024 exhibition at Renata Fabbri in Milan. Born in Bari in 1986, he is displaying 'La sera non finisce mai uguale' at Spazio BOXBOX, Galleria Alessandro Albanese, located at Via Antonio Stoppani 36, until 30 October 2026. His creations draw inspiration from 'courtly' artists like Paolo Uccello and Sassetta, challenging traditional norms, especially in the depiction of the Temptations of Saint Anthony. Ruccia also delves into ceramics, crafting hand-modeled sculptures with rugged textures. The brilliant glazes in his work create a link between painting and sculpture, although the relationship remains ambiguous. Installation photography by Bruno Bani; text by Emma Sedini.
