Conference in Rome on social agriculture and new rural architecture

On March 31, 2014, at 7:30 PM, at ACER in via di Villa Patrizi 11 in Rome, the conference "Agritettura della Città. Roma Città Agricola" was held, organized by IN/ARCH. The event explored the model of the "social farm", a hybrid place where agricultural and productive functions are integrated with educational, cultural, tourism, welfare, wellness, and eco-sustainability activities. Among the planned spaces: libraries, small theaters, video rooms, kindergartens, playrooms, hippotherapy courses, pet therapy, and horticulture therapy, as well as agritourism dining, direct sale of organic products, wellness centers, and renewable energy systems. Luca Zevi, President of IN/ARCH Lazio, introduced the conversation, moderated by Francesco Orofino, National Vice President. Speakers: Alessia Antinori, Carlo De Angelis (Coordinator of the Alberto Bastiani Consortium), Rossano Salvatore (Vice President of CESC Project), Susanna Menichini (Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Rome "La Sapienza"), Estella Marino (Environment Councilor of the City of Rome), Gian Paolo Manzella (Vice President of the Committee for EU and International Affairs of the Lazio Region), Marta Leonori (Councilor for Productive Activities of the City of Rome), Paolo Cuccia (President of Gambero Rosso and Artribune). The meeting centered on the ethical, creative, and social aspect of agricultural evolution.
