Connecting Worlds 2026: Art and Science Confront Water in Cuneo
From 8 to 11 October, the historic center of Cuneo hosts the fifth edition of Connecting Worlds, titled Bodies of Water, organized by the cultural association Art.ur in collaboration with the Parco Fluviale Gesso e Stura. The project, launched in 2022 in response to the devastation caused by Storm Alex, focuses this year on water as both a resource and a flood risk. Works by Suzanne Husky, Elena Mazzi, Caretto I Spagna, Francesca Grilli, Simon Faithfull, Enzo e Barbara, and La Grande Acqua are presented in the Tenda Ferrino 1870 in Largo Audiffredi and at the park's Infopoint. The event includes scientific contributions from Laurie Debove, Stefano Fenoglio, and Mirca Zotti. The initiative is supported by Ferrino, a Turin-based outdoor company founded in 1870, whose CEO Anna Ferrino and curator Andrea Lerda discuss the project in interviews. The 2022 edition was born after Storm Alex, which struck the Roya and Vermenagna valleys on 2–3 October 2020, causing 18 deaths. The fifth edition aims to foster ecological awareness, empathy, and reconnection with natural balances, presenting water as a sentient interlocutor and vital element, while also addressing glacier melting, floods, sea warming, and water pollution. The project transforms public space into a site for collective participation, bridging artistic and scientific languages.
