Cecilia Morgado and Simonetta Ferrada Revisit Leonardo's Arno Valley Drawing at Chiasso Perduto, Florence

exhibition · 2026-09-25

On Thursday, 1 October at 17:30, Chiasso Perduto in Florence will unveil "Valle dell'Arno – ondeggiante," a collaborative project by Cecilia Morgado and Simonetta Ferrada. Located at Via de' Coverelli 4R, the exhibition will be accessible from 1 to 4 October between 15:00 and 19:00. Morgado's artistic journey, which began in 1974, reinterprets Leonardo da Vinci's drawing of the Arno Valley through diverse formats. Working alongside architect Ferrada, they aim to transform the Arno from a mere visual representation into an everyday experience. The artists document the river's dynamics using pen-and-ink techniques and frottage, integrating physical remnants of Florence. The initiative is backed by Fondart Nacional Chile – Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio, encouraging public interaction.
