CCS Bard Presenta Tre Mostre Personali sull'Astrattismo di Uman, Betty Parsons, Marilou Schultz
Questa estate, l'Hessel Museum of Art del Center for Curatorial Studies del Bard College ad Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, presenta tre mostre personali, ciascuna dedicata a un'artista donna che sfida le norme dell'astrattismo e del colore. Le artiste in mostra includono Uman (n. 1980), pittrice somala cresciuta in Kenya; Betty Parsons (1900-1982), rinomata gallerista e artista della metà del secolo; e Marilou Schultz (n. 1954), tessitrice Diné di quarta generazione. La mostra di Schultz, 'Replica of a Chip: The Weaving Technology of Marilou Schultz', è in programma fino al 29 novembre e presenta le sue tessiture ispirate ai chip dei computer, inclusa una commissione del 1994 per Intel. 'In Between' di Uman, visitabile fino al 29 novembre 2026, espone oltre 100 opere, mentre 'Betty Parsons, an Artist with a Gallery' (fino al 18 ottobre 2026) è la prima importante retrospettiva sull'arte di Parsons e sul ruolo fondamentale della sua galleria nell'Espressionismo Astratto.
