Antonio Presti Unveils Pegaso by Antonello Bonanno Conti in Catania's Librino District

exhibition · 2026-10-13

In the Librino area of Catania, entrepreneur Antonio Presti unveiled a monumental sculpture named Pegaso, crafted by Antonello Bonanno Conti. This artwork, developed in collaboration with children from the Campanella-Sturzo school, comprises five thousand clay tiles intricately etched with their aspirations. Presti underscores the importance of honoring the 70,000 inhabitants, which includes 10,000 children, and promotes Librino as a living museum. He presented the region's needs to the parliamentary Commission on Peripheries in July, advocating for ongoing assistance. Following his father's passing, Presti's Fiumara d'Arte project faced initial challenges from the mafia but gained recognition. His Atelier sul Mare, which closed in 2023, has found new life at Villa Margi. The forthcoming Roseto di Sant'Agata initiative will engage local organizations. Presti asserts, "We in Librino don't seek seventy thousand votes, but seventy thousand devotees."
