Alberto Biasi Talks Rome Retrospective and the Origins of Gruppo N at Tornabuoni Arte
Tornabuoni Arte Roma has launched a retrospective showcasing the works of Alberto Biasi, who was born in Padua in 1937. The exhibition features twenty pieces created from the 1960s to the present, emphasizing his ties to Rome. In an interview with Artribune, Biasi reflects on his past exhibitions, such as the 1960 group show Sculture componibili and the 1970 Vitalità del Negativo, curated by Bonito Oliva. He reminisces about the dynamic art scene in 1950s Padua, highlighting La Chiocciola and the Circolo del Pozzetto, where he first collaborated with Piero Manzoni. Biasi also discusses the establishment of Gruppo N, inspired by Azimut and GRAV, and recalls the influence of his childhood on his kinetic works, including Light Prisms from 1970.
