ADI Design Museum in Milan Unveils New Compasso d'Oro Collection Display with Literary Focus
In Milan, the ADI Design Museum has reimagined its Compasso d'Oro collection by integrating a literary aspect. This initiative features an enhanced exhibition pathway that showcases the Compasso d'Oro alla Carriera del prodotto (2020) alongside international Compassi, under the curation of Maité García Sanchis. Installations are crafted by Matteo Vercelloni, with graphics designed by Francesco Franchi and Davide Mottes. The project includes thematic interpretations by Andrea Anastasio and Domitilla Dardi, linking celebrated designs to literary works. For instance, the BU sewing machine (1954) by Marcello Nizzoli is associated with Aldo Palazzeschi's Sorelle Materassi, while the Boma shelter (2001) relates to Elena Ferrante's novels. Established in 1954 by Gio Ponti, the museum is situated at Piazza Compasso d'Oro and offers free entry.
