Yara Bou Nassar Opens Arabic-Language Theatre Cycle at MC93 Bobigny

Lebanese playwright Yara Bou Nassar brings her piece "Les aventures d'un soi hypothétique" to the Maison de la culture MC93 in Bobigny, France, opening a cycle of Arabic-language performances presented within the Saison Méditerranée. The programme gathers artists from Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Algeria and Lebanon, with Lebanon launching the series. Bou Nassar's play traces a couple — the author's own parents — and through their story recounts the history of Lebanon across successive wars and exiles, and how its population endures. The work is described as a reckoning with memory, with Bou Nassar appearing alongside Elie Youssef. The performance was staged on 22 September 2026. In her own words, the playwright states: «Nous n'avons pas le temps de faire le deuil». The MC93 season positions Arabic-language theatre as evidence of the theatrical richness of the Middle East and the Maghreb.
