Willoughby Symphony Orchestra Announces 2027 Season with Beethoven, World Premieres

The Willoughby Symphony Orchestra (WSO) in Sydney has unveiled its 2027 season, featuring a mix of classic and contemporary Australian music. The season opens with 'Fate,' where pianist Konstantin Shamray will play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 and Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony. In July, the concert 'Highland Cathedral' will have saxophonist Amy Dickson performing alongside the Scots College Old Boys Pipes and Drums, including Sibelius's Second Symphony and the world premiere of Anna Clyne's PIVOT. September will highlight trumpeter Dominic Longhurst with Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto and Respighi’s Pines of Rome. Conducted by Dr. Sarah Penicka-Smith, 'Sea and Stars' in May will feature works by Australian composers, while the season wraps up with 'Spirit of Christmas.' Tickets are available now.
