Warsaw's The Poster Festival Highlights Polish Graphic Design History and New Generation

The Festival of Posters, Post-Poster Forms and Experimental Graphic Design, organized by It's Nice That, was held in Warsaw from June 11–14, 2026. The event included a variety of exhibitions, a conference, and the launch of the second issue of Plop magazine. A key exhibition, 'Polish Female Graphic Designers 1945–1989', curated by Alicja Kobza, highlighted overlooked designers such as Lilian Baczewska-Lampert, Barbara Baranowska, Hanna Bodnar, Zofia Darowska, Ewa Frysztak, and Julitta Gadomska. Kuba Sowiński's exhibition, 'Not the Artist', examined authorship through celebrity portraits. The 'New School of Posters' featured emerging designers like Karolina Pietrzyk, Łukasz Matuszewski, and Anna Wacławek. The conference had speakers from Johnson/Kingston, Warriors Studio, Coding Systems, and Eunbee Lee discussing AI in design. Katarzyna Matul presented her book on the Polish School of Posters, and the festival concluded with a screen-printing afterparty.
