VIDEO POST Revives Historic Audiovisual Performance 'Scribble' from 2000

The VIDEO POST initiative has revived the historic 'Scribble' project, an audiovisual concert originally commissioned in 2000 by Ars Electronica Festival. Created by Golan Levin, Gregory Shakar, and Scott Gibbons, this live performance uses custom software to generate kinetic light displays with tightly synchronized abstract imagery and sound. The work has been presented in solo, duo, and trio formats at over 30 international festivals and venues. It operates on the Audiovisual Environment Suite (AVES), a collection of seven interactive systems designed for real-time creation of abstract animations and audio. Each instrument in AVES offers a flexible interface that allows for both orchestrated and improvised performances, aiming to produce endlessly variable visual and auditory expressions.
