Venice Glass Week launches first edition with 50+ events across the city
The inaugural Venice Glass Week, celebrating the artistry of Murano glass, is set to take place from September 10 to 17, 2017, with significant support from key Venetian institutions to promote the local glassmaking tradition. The organizing committee features the Municipality of Venice among others. Notable events include 'Vittorio Zecchin: i vetri trasparenti per Cappellin e Venini' at Le Stanze del Vetro (September 10 to January 7), curated by Marino Barovier; Pae White's 'Qwalala' at Fondazione Giorgio Cini until September 20; 'Cinque Tecniche col Vetro' at Museo del Vetro di Murano until September 17; 'Gold' installation at Teatro La Fenice until September 13; and 'Fragili Memorie' by Luigi Ferrigno at Palazzo da Mula (September 15 to October 15), along with Glasstress running until November 26.
