Valentim Quaresma Debuts SS27 "DISTOPIA" Collection at ModaLisboa

festival-fair · 2026-10-19

During ModaLisboa in Lisbon, Valentim Quaresma, a Portuguese designer, unveiled his Spring/Summer 2027 collection called DISTOPIA. His presentation was all about using clothing as a statement of defiance, showcasing the body as a space where conformity clashes with self-expression. After refining his jewelry skills at Ar.Co in Lisbon and spending two decades working with Ana Salazar, Quaresma now sees fashion as protective armor rather than just clothing. His pieces feature daring material experiments and creative upcycling, turning everyday objects into cutting-edge accessories. Models looked like modern survivalists in elaborate metalwork and reimagined silhouettes. Quaresma raised the thought that the future may reflect what we create today rather than being a destination. The runway was captured by Alexandre Azevedo, while Luís Miguel Fonseca documented behind the scenes, both for ModaLisboa, supported by APICCAPS Portugal.
