Ustwo Sydney Studio Creates Augmented Reality Mural for Mindfulness

The Sydney studio of Ustwo, a digital product company, has developed an augmented reality mural called the Mindful Mural. The project was designed, constructed, and painted by a small team at their workspace, with Olivia King leading product design and mural creation, and Luca Strazzullo handling development. The team completed the interactive installation in less than two weeks, working rapidly through ideation and prototyping phases. The concept aimed to visually enhance the studio environment while providing a meaningful experience for employees, referred to as Ustwobies. With a focus on mindfulness and mental wellbeing, the mural offers a creative tool for staff to take breaks from work and engage in mindful breathing exercises. The AR component allows users to interact with the mural through a digital interface, blending physical art with technological enhancement. The project represents an innovative approach to workplace wellness initiatives within the creative industry, merging artistic expression with digital functionality to support mental health practices in professional settings.
