Untitled Art, Houston Returns with 98 Galleries and Strong Texas Sales
The George R. Brown Convention Center is currently hosting the second Untitled Art event in Houston, which will run until October 4. This year, the number of participating galleries has increased to 98, up from 88 at the first event, reflecting an 11% growth. About 20% of these galleries are from Texas, featuring prominent local names like Inman, McClain, Moody, Sicardi Ayers Bacino, Laura (the gallery), and Seven Sisters. However, all five Dallas galleries that took part last year are absent this time. During the VIP preview on October 1, Moody Gallery sold Mary McCleary's Earth Felt the Wound for $80,000, and McClain Gallery sold Dorothy Hood's Tixo in the Morning for $95,000. The fair focuses on accessible art and highlights Houston’s DIY scene, drawing collectors such as Leigh and Reggie Smith, along with Judy Nyquist.
