Unitree Robots Walk Vogue World 2026: Milano Runway in AI-Themed Act
Four humanoid robots from Unitree Robotics appeared on the runway of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II during the fourth act of Vogue World 2026: Milano, titled "The Age of Intelligence." The show, conceived as a tribute to Italian craft and innovation, also examined human creativity in the age of artificial intelligence. Creative director Juan Costa Paz said the robots were brought in to represent "the beginning of robotics," acknowledging they are "still very clunky" but marking an inflection point in human history. He added that their presence is meant to convey that AI and robots are not going away. The robots shared the runway with models including Alex Consani, Ruth Deng, and Yumi Nu. The event also featured a live cover of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" by Alicia Keys, dance sequences, and celebrity cameos. A companion video created for Vogue by Bardia Zeinalli starred Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti as "Vittori-AI," with AI-generated effects by Hunter Hornof, exploring the limits of machine learning in taste and emotion. Ceretti stated that while technology can generate ideas and imitate styles, human experience and emotion in art remain irreplaceable. Zeinalli said the piece aimed to reassure viewers and instill confidence in their humanity.
