UnArchive Found Footage Fest 4th Edition Transforms Trastevere

The fourth UnArchive Found Footage Fest, hosted by AAMOD, unfolded over six days in the Trastevere area of Rome, utilizing various churches, cinemas, and historic venues. Directed by Marco Bertozzi and Alina Marazzi, the festival spotlighted found footage and the innovative reuse of audiovisual content. Key events included public screenings, author discussions, and industry presentations. At the Aranciera in Orto Botanico, international archive directors presented catalogs, while nine authors pitched their projects. The sections Panorami Italiani and Frontiere examined stereotypes and borders, with Urban Footage offering a fresh perspective on Montreal. Retrospectives celebrated Giuseppe Bertolucci and Cécile Fontaine, who conducted a masterclass. The Unarchive Award was given to Lana Daher's "Do You Love Me," while Tomasz Wolski's "The Big Chief" won for international feature. Two short films shared first place: "Daria's Night Flowers" by Maryam Tafakory and "Sunday Afternoon" by Bill Morrison. AAMOD president Vincenzo Vita highlighted the significance of cultural exchange and shared knowledge.
