Tunga's True Rouge Manuscript and Photos Released as Limited Edition at SP-Arte 2026

A new limited edition multiple dedicated to Tunga's 1997 work True Rouge has been launched by Instituto Tunga in partnership with Instituto Inhotim. This release coincides with SP-Arte 2026 and marks the 20th anniversary of the Inhotim museum. The edition, part of the 8th iteration of the Múltiplos Inhotim program, is limited to 100 copies. It includes a facsimile of Tunga's manuscript containing his reflections on the work, alongside six photographs by Daniela Paoliello documenting the behind-the-scenes of the artist's last installation at Inhotim in 2012. True Rouge was first installed at Inhotim in 2002 and occupies the institution's first gallery permanently dedicated to a single artist. The work explores central aspects of Tunga's practice, including literature, performance, installation, the presence of the body, and investigations into matter and alchemical processes. The multiple celebrates Tunga's legacy within Brazilian contemporary art and reaffirms his importance to Inhotim's history. Pre-sales for the edition will occur during SP-Arte from April 8 to 12, 2026, at the Instituto Inhotim booth (I07) in the Bienal Pavilion in São Paulo. The gallery Almeida & Dale represents Tunga's legacy and participates in disseminating his work alongside Instituto Tunga.
