Trois-Rivières Poetry Festival Opens 42nd Edition With New Quebecois Voices
Running from October 2 to 11, the Festival International de Poésie de Trois-Rivières showcases approximately one hundred poets and offers close to three hundred events. Celebrating its 42nd edition, the festival has positioned Trois-Rivières as a significant center for poetry worldwide. A recent broadcast featured three up-and-coming Quebecois poets: Catherine Paquet, who incorporates franglais and explores various topics; Mayra Bruneau Da Costa, a contender for the 2026 Prix des nouvelles voix de la littérature, recognized for her poignant short poems; and François Guérette, recipient of the Grand Prix Quebecor for his personal collection, La base et le Sommet. The café-bar Le Zenob, a cultural staple, presents musical acts by Angine de Poitrine.
