The Teskey Brothers to Open 2026 Melbourne International Jazz Festival
The Melbourne International Jazz Festival announced that The Teskey Brothers will open its 2026 edition on 17 October at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The performance celebrates the 10th anniversary of their debut album Half Mile Harvest. Joining them are trombonist Fred Wesley with The New JBs and ARIA Award-winner Emily Wurramara. Other additions include supergroup Aziza led by Dave Holland at Hamer Hall on 25 October, Rebirth Brass Band at 170 Russell on 18 October, and cellist Tomeka Reid with her Quartet at The JazzLab on 24–25 October. Previously announced headliners include Dee Dee Bridgewater, Tigran Hamasyan, aja monet, The Bad Plus, and the Kris Davis Trio. The festival runs 16–25 October across Melbourne venues. Pre-sale for The Teskey Brothers opens 10am AEST on 8 July.
