The Other Art Fair Brooklyn 2026 Focuses on Nostalgia-Core Theme

The Other Art Fair will hold its 17th Brooklyn edition from April 16-19, 2026 at the Agger Fish Building in Brooklyn Navy Yard, marking a return to that venue after an extended absence. This year's event centers on the theme of 'nostalgia-core,' exploring memory, technology, and cultural artifacts through works by approximately 130 international artists. Featured participants include Braden Young, who presents a sculpture referencing the retired MetroCard; Nicholas Frizalone, who applies glitch effects to classical imagery; Kamaldeep Kaur, blending traditional Indian techniques with contemporary themes; Isabel Margarita Araneda Urrutia, depicting urban scenes affected by gentrification; and Chao Wang, merging technological and organic forms. The fair emphasizes direct artist engagement, with exhibitors managing their own booths and transparent pricing to encourage accessibility. Additional programming includes interactive installations, DJ sets, craft cocktails, and artist-led workshops.
