TerraTx Art Festival to Launch Permanent 22-Mile Public Art Trail in Frio Canyon
The first-ever TerraTx Art Festival is set to take place from September 25 to 27 in Frio Canyon, located in Texas Hill Country, featuring a 22-mile public art trail stretching from Leakey to Concan. Under the theme “Legends of the Land,” the event showcases nine muralists and mosaic artists, alongside musicians, poets, and local art displays. Leah Guerrero, the festival's founder, highlighted the importance of community participation, with support from 20 local volunteers and a grant from Humanities Texas. Notable artists such as Matt Tumlinson, Britt Johnson, and Carmen Rangel will be involved. Activities will include workshops, craft demonstrations, and performances by Micah Edwards and the Brayden Foster Band, all free of charge. The festivities will kick off with an art walk and party in Leakey, followed by events at the Concan Visitor Center and Old Concan Schoolhouse.
