Tencent Launches TenPayGo Payment App for International Visitors Ahead of Apec Summit

digital · 2026-09-24

On Thursday, Tencent's WeChat Pay team introduced TenPayGo, a new payment application designed for international travelers. This app allows users to connect foreign credit cards or digital wallets from their home countries to the WeChat Pay network. TenPayGo supports seven international card networks, including Visa and Mastercard, and approximately 60 overseas digital wallets, with Singapore's Starryblu among the initial partners. It facilitates payments at millions of shops, restaurants, and attractions within the WeChat Pay ecosystem. Previously, limited test versions were available on Apple's App Store and Google Play. Registration requires only an email address, simplifying the onboarding process for foreign visitors, unlike many Chinese apps that necessitate a local phone number. The launch precedes the Apec summit.
