Temi Coker Designs 2026 Texas Book Festival Poster

Dallas-based multidisciplinary artist Temi Coker, born in Lagos, Nigeria, has been selected as the poster artist for the 2026 Texas Book Festival. His design, titled Between Here and There, depicts a woman's face surrounded by vibrant colors with two open books in the lower corners. Coker explained that he wanted to visualize the imaginative experience of reading, where one is physically present but mentally elsewhere. The festival annually chooses an artist with strong Texas ties to reflect its focus on creativity and community. Past poster artists include Sarah Wilson, Jon Flaming, and Julie Speed. Dalia Azim, Texas Book Festival COO, praised Coker as a true multi-hyphenate for his work in photography and design. Coker recently launched Heirloom, a home decor collection for Walmart inspired by fatherhood and his Yoruba heritage. His other designs include varsity jackets, ceramics, rugs, T-shirts, scarves, and posters. The Between Here and There poster will appear on merchandise at the festival, scheduled for November 14–15 in downtown Austin.
