Taskin Goec's BLACK EYE Debuts at PLATTE Berlin During Fashion Week

digital · 2026-07-04

On July 2nd, PLATTE Berlin unveiled BLACK EYE, the inaugural solo exhibition by mixed-reality designer Taskin Goec, at Lobe Block in Gesundbrunnen. The event attracted over 800 guests who experienced a unique show that substituted a traditional runway with expansive screens showcasing twenty-five digital designs, accompanied by live algorithmic organ music from GAMUT Inc. Additionally, NEW SUNS, a series of short films created by the Moving Image class (Bewegtbildklasse) at the Universität der Künste Berlin, was presented within Arno Brandlhuber's Terrassenhaus. Goec’s innovative method redefines fashion production by initially presenting designs digitally and producing physical garments only in response to market interest. Each piece starts with real fabrics and hands-on exploration, later integrated into an AI system that Goec meticulously curates. The Berlin District Office of Mitte's Economic Development Office supported the presentation.
