Tala Schlossberg Debuts Play Music Theory After Year in New Mexico Desert

Artist and animator Tala Schlossberg presented her practice at Nicer Tuesdays in New York in September, roughly a year after relocating from the city to the New Mexico desert. Her work explores how sound, images and words interact with time. The desert period was framed as a deliberate commitment to spending time on activities she loves, and those experiments fed directly into Play Music Theory, an app and visual instrument built to examine the relationship between sound, shapes and time. Schlossberg appeared on stage as part of the monthly Nicer Tuesdays talk series, which is organized by It's Nice That and features presentations by original creatives; the publication promotes the event through a newsletter offering early access to tickets. The session was sponsored, with Love Corn, a UK crunchy corn snack brand marketed as low sugar, gluten-free and vegan, and a canned cocktail brand operating as a B Corp among the partners. The talk was documented in an article credited to the It's Nice That team. Schlossberg's move away from New York and her subsequent output position the app as the culmination of a year of experimentation rather than a standalone product launch.
