Superstudio Design Launches for Milan Design Week 2026 with Expanded Multi-Venue Format
For the 2026 edition of Milan Design Week, Superstudio Events is launching a significantly expanded initiative called Superstudio Design. This new format marks a strategic shift, moving beyond a single district to create a distributed network across three Milanese neighborhoods: Tortona, Barona, and Bovisa. The project encompasses 30,000 square meters across three venues: Superstudio Più, Superstudio Maxi, and the newly introduced Superstudio Village. Each venue corresponds to one of three thematic lines: SuperNova, SuperCity, and SuperPlayground. The 2026 edition will feature 70 projects, 91 brands, and 88 designers from 19 countries. Tommaso Borioli, CEO of Superstudio Events, explained the expansion was driven by a desire to build upon a positive but not fully satisfactory 2025 outcome. The initiative aims to create a new urban map for design, highlighting areas with industrial pasts now undergoing cultural regeneration. Key programming includes SuperNova at Superstudio Più, focusing on large-scale international installations, with a major return exhibition by Moooi titled 'Moooi 25 Years Young & Promising,' curated by Marcel Wanders. SuperCity at Superstudio Maxi, curated by Giulio Cappellini, presents an ideal, multicultural cityscape through 15 projects exploring contemporary living. SuperPlayground at Superstudio Village, located in a repurposed factory, is dedicated to emerging creativity and social design. The event runs from April 20 to 26, 2026, concurrently with the established Tortona Rocks district programming, which includes presentations from brands like IQOS with Devialet, Archiproducts Milano, and McDonald's.
