St. Moritz Flower Show Blends Botany, Art, and Design in Engadin Debut
The first edition of the St. Moritz Flower Show took place over four days in the gardens of the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski, reimagining the traditional flower show as a dialogue between botany, contemporary art, design, and craftsmanship. Promoted by Der Pavilion—a new cultural platform founded by Giorgio Pace in the Engadin region—the event treated the flower as a curatorial device, not mere decoration. Bespoke tents by Guido Toschi Marazzani Visconti framed the setting. Participating galleries included The Spaceless Gallery (with Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen and Hugh Findletar), The Stable (with Yves Scherer), and Stalla Madulain (with Ester Vonplon), whose works engaged directly with the alpine landscape rather than imposing upon it. The program also featured local nurseries presenting rare alpine species, talks with Rosanna Foresti Nicoletti, architects Marco Bay and Martino de Tommasi, and workshops on garden design and landscape architecture. Many exhibitors came from Italy, contributing expertise in horticulture, raw materials, and design. The show was realized in partnership with EFG Private Bank and the municipality of St. Moritz.
