SpY's CYCLES N2: 15 Illuminated Rings Float Over Kazan Industrial Hall

Spanish artist SpY unveiled 'CYCLES N2' at the 2026 NUR International Media Art Festival in Kazan, Russia. The kinetic installation suspends 15 illuminated rings above an industrial hall with glowing red ramps. Unlike his earlier rotating steel sculpture 'Cycles', this work explores vertical movement: each ring rises and falls independently at timed intervals, creating ever-changing geometric patterns. An original score by Omar Tenany and Komatsu accompanies the synchronized light pulses. The festival, held annually since 2021, commissions artists to reinterpret Kazan's architecture through large-scale interventions. The 20 x 8 meter steel and motor installation transforms the space into an immersive, constantly shifting environment.
