Southwest Contemporary Announces Weekend 2026 with Summit, Art Party, and Benefit Auction

Southwest Contemporary, a regional art magazine, has unveiled its first-ever Southwest Contemporary Weekend, set to take place on September 4–5, 2026, at the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This two-day event will encompass three main activities: the Southwest Contemporary Summit, the second annual Art Party, and a benefit art auction. The Summit will serve as a platform for artists, arts professionals, and the public to engage in open discussions about infrastructure, collaboration, financial sustainability, and the art market. Scheduled for Saturday, September 5, from 6 to 9 pm, the Art Party will feature a live performance by Tone Ranger, cocktails, raffle prizes, and the launch of Volume 14: Alien of Southwest Contemporary magazine. The benefit auction will showcase around 100 artworks from over fifty prominent contemporary artists, with online bidding available from August 28 to September 6, 2026. Proceeds will support independent arts journalism, with up to 50% shared with participating artists. The event aims to strengthen community ties, celebrate the Southwest's artistic scene, and raise funds for independent arts journalism. Registration for the Summit is limited and includes complimentary tickets to the Art Party.
