South West Biennial 2026: Tracework Inaugural Edition in Western Australia

The first South West Biennial, named Tracework, is scheduled from 21 March to 19 July 2026 at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery along with six partner locations throughout southwestern Australia. This exhibition serves as both a map and a meeting point, delving into the concept of 'the trace'—a testament to care, connection, and memory. It showcases a selection of twenty-eight artists, in addition to individual and collaborative works by Jacobus Capone, Olga Cironis, Amber Cronin, Tom Borgas, Sharyn Egan, and Andy Quilty. The biennial highlights the idea that artistic creation is inherently a collective endeavor. A detail from Nichole Lubcke's ceramic piece Hold Me (2025–6) will also be displayed.
