festival-fair · 2026-04-23

The 15th Shanghai Biennale, titled 'Does the flower hear the bee?', will open on November 8, 2025, at the Power Station of Art and feature over 250 works by 67 artists and collectives. Curated around recent scientific discoveries on interspecies communication, the exhibition explores intersections of human and nonhuman intelligence. Participating artists include Francis Alÿs, Theaster Gates, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Haegue Yang, and 63 others. City Projects will take place at Jia Yuan Hai Art Museum and VILLA tbh, Shanghai. The biennale draws on eco-philosopher David Abram's concept of the 'more-than-human world' and aims to offer pathways through global uncertainty.
