Santa Fe Estate Linked to Georgia O'Keeffe Lists for $13.75 Million

An estate in Santa Fe, previously owned by Juan Hamilton, who was a close associate of Georgia O'Keeffe, is now available for $13.75 million. This property, adjacent to Sol y Sombra—O'Keeffe's 20-acre residence during her later years—features a guest casita that was once an art studio. Hamilton, who became O'Keeffe's assistant and friend after meeting her in 1973, supported her artistic pursuits as her vision deteriorated. Following her passing in 1986, he inherited significant assets, including two homes in New Mexico, which led to a dispute with her family. In 2020, he auctioned some of her belongings at Sotheby's for $17.2 million. The 9,326-square-foot estate includes a main house with three bedrooms, two casitas, a pool, and ample garage space. Grace Elliott of Sotheby's International Realty in Santa Fe is managing the listing. Hamilton also owns a nearly 14-acre property in Honolulu, priced at $6.3 million, which he acquired in 1998. The Santa Fe estate has not been on the market for over two decades.
