Recently Authenticated Modigliani Painting Presented at Art Basel Hong Kong with $13.3 Million Price

Pace Gallery is offering a recently authenticated Amedeo Modigliani painting titled 'Jeune femme brune' (1917–18) at Art Basel Hong Kong with a price of approximately $13.3 million. The work, which has a complex authentication history, was previously withdrawn from a 1997 Phillips auction due to concerns. Art historian Marc Restellini of Institut Restellini has now confirmed its authenticity through scientific analysis and archival research, including documentation of its 1929 exhibition at Leicester Galleries. The painting's inclusion in Restellini's forthcoming Modigliani catalogue raisonné marks its validation after decades of uncertainty.
