Rossy de Palma's Cinematic Carte Blanche at the Louvre

The Louvre in Paris is hosting a special cinematic event featuring Spanish actress Rossy de Palma, timed with the museum's autumn exhibitions 'Zurbarán' and 'Sculpter la couleur', which celebrate Spanish art. De Palma, known as the muse of filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, has been invited to curate a film series for the Louvre's Auditorium. The program, titled '¡I Louvre Mucho!', includes ten films that offer a personal and passionate overview of Spanish cinema, ranging from works by Luis Buñuel to lesser-known gems. The series will unfold over two weekends of screenings and discussions. The opening night on Friday, October 9 at 8 PM features a conversation between de Palma and journalist and critic Aureliano Tonet, followed by a screening of Carlos Saura's 1992 film 'Sevillanas', which showcases flamenco and Andalusian dance traditions. This event highlights the Louvre's engagement with contemporary culture and its celebration of Spanish artistic heritage.
