Rome Art Week 2026: 488 Free Events and 942 Participants Across the Capital
Rome Art Week returns for its eleventh edition from 19 to 25 October 2026, turning the Italian capital into a dispersed contemporary art venue rather than a single-site fair. Of 1,083 applications received, 942 were approved, comprising 687 artists, 182 galleries and cultural institutions, 73 curators and eight artistic collectives. The programme totals 488 free-entry appointments, split into 151 exhibitions, 145 events and 192 open studios, the last letting visitors enter working spaces and speak directly with artists. Two digital tools debut this year: My RAW, which lets users save favourite appointments into a personal itinerary and also gauges which events draw most interest, and RAW Proximity, a geolocation function that sets a search radius, shows currently accessible events and provides directions to venues. Tours are reworked as routes devised by participating artists, curators, galleries and institutions, each requiring at least three stops and built around a theme, a neighbourhood or a personal reading of contemporary production; all are free. RAW Consiglia offers a daily selection of highlighted initiatives, while Punti di Vista returns with suggested paths from figures in the art world. The full calendar, still being updated, is available at www.romeartweek.com.
