Rise Art expands Minor Attractions partnership with Santi gallery showcase of Sean Pearl prints
Rise Art has launched an extended, year-round collaboration with the art fair Minor Attractions, beginning with a presentation at London gallery Santi. This inaugural showcase features five new prints by Florida-born, London-based artist Sean Pearl. The works, described as small-scale etchings, engage with historical imagery through humor and cynicism, treating printmaking itself as subject matter for pastiche. Gallery founder Santiago Steib notes Pearl's approach involves borrowing recognizable motifs and acting as a conduit for the memetic repetition of forms. The partnership follows a previous online collaboration during Minor Attractions' 2023 edition, which involved curators Marcelle Joseph and Hector Campbell selecting works from over 70 galleries. Minor Attractions is noted for transforming The Mandrake hotel in London into an intimate yet monumental gathering during Frieze Week. Santi gallery recently celebrated its first anniversary in London. The prints are presented as part of a series of focused, in-depth presentations planned under the expanded partnership.
