ReeFLorida Symposium 2025 Focuses on Coral Reef Research and Conservation

The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science hosted the third annual ReeFLorida Symposium from November 18 to 21, 2025. The event brought together over 230 participants including researchers, conservationists, educators, and students for presentations, workshops, and discussions focused on Florida's Coral Reef. Key speakers included Alex Reed from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Ken Nedimeyer of Reef Renewal USA, and Dr. Analisa Duran from Frost Science. Presentations covered coral health, restoration techniques, and public education, while museum staff shared their work on coral care and disease treatment. The symposium emphasized collaborative efforts across research, conservation, and education sectors to address reef preservation challenges.
