Pontivy Hosts France's Largest Bingo Event with Major Prizes

On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the town of Pontivy in Brittany's Morbihan department organized what is described as France's biggest bingo competition. The event attracted over 4,200 participants from across the country, with attendees representing more than 70 different departments. Organized by the supporters' association of the local football club in Pontivy, the gathering featured two large halls filled with tables stretching approximately two kilometers. Prizes valued at over 100,000 euros were available, including items such as a motorhome, a car, an electric scooter, and various gift baskets. The main attraction was the motorhome, which was ultimately won by Bénédicte, a home care assistant from the Arcachon basin in Gironde, who became emotional upon hearing the results. Participants traveled significant distances, with some groups coming from as far as the Landes region. Claude Potevin, president of the football supporters' club, noted the challenge of assembling such a large crowd, mentioning that gathering 3,000 people had become difficult. The atmosphere remained lively throughout the day, with attendees bringing their own meals to avoid missing any rounds. One participant shared that this was their fourth time attending and that they had previously won a vehicle. The event concluded with Guy winning a scooter before the grand prize was awarded.
