Pitti Uomo 110: Simone Rocha and DSM Kei Ninomiya lead menswear month

festival-fair · 2026-06-19

The 110th edition of Pitti Uomo, held in Florence from June 16-18, 2026, marked the start of Men's Fashion Month, drawing international press and buyers despite soaring temperatures of 36°C. Guest designers Simone Rocha and DSM Kei Ninomiya presented standout shows. Rocha debuted her first dedicated menswear collection at Teatro della Pergola, exploring 'tender masculinity' with organza feather boas and cornflower-blue adornments, inspired by E.M. Forster's 'A Room with a View'. Ninomiya's show at the former convent Sant'Orsola featured punk attire with safety pins, tartan kilts, and flower-crowned spiked hair. Brunello Cucinelli hosted his traditional dinner at Santa Maria Novella church, showcasing an eclectic S/S 2027 collection inspired by 'Thought is Free'. Herno introduced 'Herno Flight', a lightweight travel collection, and a cabin trolley in collaboration with FPM Milano. Palazzo Gucci, under new creative director Demna, reopened with 'Gucci Storia' exhibition and a new executive chef Takahiko Kondo at Gucci Osteria. Margaret Howell revealed an MHL collaboration with Dr Martens on a 1461 shoe made from chrome-free leather by C.F. Stead, available July 16, 2026. Polimoda fashion school celebrated its 40th anniversary with a graduate show at Manifattura Campus, mentored by Lucie and Luke Meier. The fair featured 740 exhibitors from 30 countries.
