Pistoletto and Subsonica: Participatory Art at Rome Summer Festival

On July 12, 2026, at the Auditorium cavea during the Rome Summer Festival, Michelangelo Pistoletto and the band Subsonica presented a participatory artwork titled EIFLES | SELFIE. A Dibond mirror signed by Pistoletto, marked with the symbol of the Third Paradise, was offered to the audience to leave thoughts and signs. After the concert, band members Samuel, Boosta, Massimiliano, Enrico, and Luca added their contributions. The work incorporates Pistoletto's signature elements: the infinity symbol with a third circle, the mirror, and sharing. The title itself is a reflection. This action is part of an ongoing collaboration that began in 2014 when Pistoletto voiced the track "Terzo Paradiso" on Subsonica's album "Una nave in una foresta." The mirror is a tribute to the band's 30-year career, celebrated with "Terre Rare 96-26." Pistoletto had previously participated in one of the "Cieli su Torino 96-26" concerts at the OGR Duomo, where an immersive retrospective was held. In 2019, Subsonica's Max Casacci created an installation for Cittadellarte with Hati Suara, producing two sound pieces: "Watermemories" using sounds from Biella's springs and streams, and "Ta Cenc" inspired by a cliff on Gozo, Malta, using limestone rock sounds.
